Cambodian Hockey Federation is aiming to win a gold medal at the 2023 SEA Games

PHNOM PENH: The Cambodian Hockey Federation (CHF) is aiming to win a gold medal for hockey at the 2023 SEA Games to be hosted by Cambodia.

This was revealed recently by the Secretary-General of the FCH, Kang Sothea, pointing out that it is in line with the medal index established on 40 gold medals by the Organizing Committee of the SEA Games of Cambodia (CAMSOC).

The federation currently has teams of female and male hockey athletes, although gathering for closed training at the Morodok Techo National Stadium is only possible for the female team, Kang Sothea said. Even though there is no closed training for the men's team there, they are training hard at their club to achieve the set target. According to Kang Sothea,

The federation also plans to send its national athletes to train abroad, especially in other Southeast Asian countries. There are now 11 Cambodian national hockey athletes gathered for closed training, he added. Cambodia was ranked 5th for hockey at the 2019 SEA Games in the Philippines.
